Green Products
- Over 80% of a Carriage RV is aluminum, not wood like others. We are helping to save the forests worldwide.
- 65% of a Carraige RV is manufactured on site. This means fewer suppliers and delivery trucks on the road and in town.
- All fabrics, paneling, and materials contain neither CFCs nor formaldehyde.
- Fiberglass cutouts are reused in smaller applications like baggage doors and slide-outs.
- Carriage chassis are painted with enamel paints, not harmful epoxies.
- Only maximum efficiency, name-brand HVAC equipment and systems are used in Carriage units.
- Carriage fifth wheels are aerodynamic by design for increased fuel mileage.
- All units come with battery shut-offs to help maintain the lifecycle of the battery, thereby reducing waste.
Green Manufacturing
- Our main production building is only three years old. It's state of the art and impervious to the elements. More efficient for heating and cooling.
- The main production building also is lit with Mercury Vapor and fluorescent bulbs. Longer lasting and efficient.
- Our plant roofs are covered with white vinyl which reflects heat, making the buildings more efficient. The roofs of our RVs are all white vinyl for the same reason.
- Parts, Service and Warranty departments were in separate, older and less efficient buildings. They have been consolidated into a newer building with updated HVAC systems.
- All production activities that require venting or air circulation are equipped with filters to reduce air pollution.
- Sawdust scrap from our woodshops is donated to local farmers for animal bedding and/or mixed for fertilizer.
- All water used in testing of holding tanks is reused and recirculated for each RV on the production line.
Green Community
- Many of our Amish employees carpool or ride bikes to work.
- The Carriage campus includes a dedicated campground and park with trees, fields and plants.
- Carriage donated land for the local town of Millersburg to use for their water treatment plant.
- Carriage supplied labor and materials to build the town's eco-friendly playground for children.
